A Surprising Treat

I mentioned May’s stamp club projects in my last post (sorry it was so long ago).  We made Pull Treats!  They are so much fun!  They’re easy to make & boy, do they bring a smile to the holder’s face!

You basically make an open-ended pouch, then punch a hole through the top.  Thread a ribbon through the hole.  Place the candy bar inside the pouch and push it down slowly.  The ribbon will be pushed down with it.  I found the tutorial on Splitcoast Stampers.

I love that chipboard star!  To trim the paper nice & close, first apply Tombo Multi Purpose Adhesive all over the top of the chipboard piece.  Then, lay it face down on the back (wrong) side of your Designer Series Paper.  Smooth the paper over the chipboard.  Then place on a cutting mat & trim the paper away with a hobby blade.

Yesterday was my daughter’s 4th birthday!  I made this card for her.  It’s very glittery so it looks better in real life than in the scan.

Stamp sets: Eat Cake, Dotted background

Ink: Pretty in Pink, Bashful Blue & Regal Rose Stampin’ Markers

Paper: Pretty in Pink, Whisper White, Bashful Blue and Vellum Cardstocks

Accessories: Dazzling Diamonds Glitter, 2-Way Glue Pen, Dimensionals, Light Pink & Light Blue Gingham Ribbons

a quick birthday card

My nephew, Oliver, turned 9 this month.  We didn’t have time to buy him a gift, and we know how much kids love getting money.  So, I made a card pocket card to hold the cash.  I love using Simply Scrappin’ Kits to put together cards.  I also stamped the cake from the matching stamp set, Eat cake, on the envelope in the coordinating inks (but didn’t take a photo of that).

Stamps: Eat Cake (for the happy birthday saying), Dotted background, Brushstroke Numbers (retiring this June!)

Paper: Party Pieces Simply Scrappin’ Kit

Accessories: Turquoise & White Grosgrain Ribbon, Dimensionals, Key Tag Punch

birthday cards

My brother and his wife came for a weekend visit.  My brother’s birthday just passed, and my sister-in-law’s birthday is coming up.

For both of their birthday cards, I used layouts that I’ve recently had success with.

This card uses the same idea as a card that I made for my February workshop projects.

Stamp Set: Eat Cake, Dotted background

Paper: Mellow Moss, Night of Navy, Bordering Blue, Whisper White

Ink: Mellow Moss, Night of Navy & Bordering Blue Markers

Accessories: 3/4″, 1 1/4″ & 1 3/8″ Circle Punches, Navy Grosgrain Ribbon, Dimensionals

I somehow lost my photo of my sister-in-law’s card closed!  Arg!  But this is what it looks like when it is open.  It uses the same fold as my st. patty’s card.

Stamp Set: Sincere Salutations

Ink: Sage Shadow

Paper: Simply Scrappin’ Kit- In Full Bloom, Lovely Lilac Cardstock

Accessories: White Grosgrain Ribbon, Dimensionals

February workshop projects

Happy Valentine’s Day!

These are the projects for all my Totally-Hands-On workshops this month.

This tri-fold card came out of Stampin’ Up!’s demonstrator magazine.  It is so fast to put together with the circle punches!

Stamp Sets- So Very (free Sell-A-Bration set!!), Dotted background stamp

Paper- Summer Sun, Old Olive, Elegant Eggplant, Whisper White

Ink- Rose Red, Summer Sun, Old Olive, Elegant Eggplant

Accessories- 3/4″, 1 1/4″ & 1 3/8″ Circle Punches, Dimensionals

Isn’t this a sweet picture of my brother Joseph, and my son Jared when he was about 8 months old?  This is a 6×6 brag book size page.

Stamp Sets- Tagger’s Dozen (winter mini catalog), Hot to Dot wheel

Paper- Bashful Blue, Kraft, Whisper White, Vellum Cardstock

Ink- Ballet Blue

Accessories- Tag Punch & Small Tag Punch, 1/8″ Circle Punch, Light Blue & Caramel Gingham Ribbon, Linen Thread, Dimensionals, Write Me a Memory Font CD

This box was inspired by a beautiful card in the Splitcoast Stampers Delight in Life gallery.  Its hard to see in the photos, but the “delight in life” saying is stamped in white under the focal image.

For those of you who have been to several of my workshops, you’ve probably made the 2-4-6-8 box.  This box uses the same simple idea, but instead of each of the sides being 2″, the front is 3″ & the sides are 1″.

Stamp set- Delight in Life (free SAB set!!)

Paper- Basic Black & Whisper White

Ink- Basic Black, Whisper White Craft

Accessories- Dazzling Diamonds Glitter, 2-Way Glue Pen, Ticket Corner Punch
