Cute New Show-It-Off Bag

Check out this super cute new bag that I just got!

It has a window that is a little larger than the standard greeting card.  I’m excited to be able to show off my artwork everywhere I go.  🙂  You can change what you have showing in the window easily through a zippered flap inside the bag.

On each side are pockets with magnetic closures. The inside is a cute & trendy bright green.  It has a large zippered pocket inside on the back and two smaller pockets inside on the front (great for cell phones & other need-to-keep-handy items).  The top of the bag has a magnetic closure, too.

I got this nifty bag from Daily Window.  They have a lot of other cute bags like a lunch bag, business tote, backpack, and other bags, each with windows for your artwork.  They are a really good company and I can tell you that they have great & super fast customer service!

If any of you would like one of these bags, I can get 10% off the entire order, plus free S&H if I’m ordering 3 or more bags at one time.

Anyway, I love my new bag!

Birthday Bag & Jumbo Tag

April 28, 2008 at 3:21 pm | Posted in Projects, Stamp Set- Eat Cake, Stamp Sets, Stampin' Up! | 1 Comment

I made this bag a few weeks ago for my daughter’s friend (a little boy who turned five).

I bought the bag for $1 at Target when we got the birthday present.  It’s so easy to make a plain bag look festive with the punches!

I punched a hole in the top of my jumbo tag with the 3/4″ Circle Punch, then made a “ribbon” out of the Real Red card stock to attach the tag to the handle of the bag.

Stamp Set:  Eat Cake
Paper:  Real Red, Brilliant Blue & Whisper White Card Stock
Ink: Real Red, Brilliant Blue & Bashful Blue Classic Ink
Accessories: Star Punch, Lrg Star Punch, Lrg Oval Punch, 3/4″ Circle Punch, Dimensionals

Mini Catalog Period Extended

Because the new Fall-Winter Collection won’t be released until August 10th, Stampin’ Up! is extending the Occassions Mini Catalog through June 30th!

So you have one extra month to purchase the delicious products (my favorites are the Tart & Tangy stamps with the matching Summer Picnic papers) in this catalog.

April 08 Totally Hands On Samples

April 25, 2008 at 5:16 pm | Posted in Accessories- Rub-Ons, Projects, Scrapbooking, Stamp Set- Enjoy Every Moment, Stamp Set- Nursery Necessities, Stamp Sets, Stampin' Up!, Technique- Dry Embossing, Technique- Watercoloring, Techniques, Techniques- Glitter | Leave a comment

These are the projects that I’m teaching for my April workshops!

This fun little card uses the Nursery Neccessities stamp set.  Its a baby set, but for this card I’ve made it more generic.  I think you could send this card for any happy occassion.

To start the focal point, I punched the Large Star Punch through Brocade Blue card stock.

Then I created a dry embossing template with the (small) Star Punch.  To do this, I simply punched through a piece of thin chipboard.  Then, using the an embossing stylus, I raised the smaller star centered inside the larger one.

Next, to define the raised section, I sponged Brocade Blue ink, keeping the embossing template in place as a guide.  Then I added Dazzling Diamonds glitter with a 2-Way Glue Pen.

I placed the star on an Always Artichoke scallop with a Dimensional, then punched a hole through the scallop and threaded the grosgrain ribbon through.

To finish it off, I stamped the small star from the stamp set with Bashful Blue Classic Ink onto the same color card base and stamped the saying with Always Artichoke.  Then I dry embossed the small star overlapping the stamped images.

I stamped the big pretty flower from the Doodle This stamp set twice on Glossy White card stock.  On one of them, I added color using a Lavender Lace Classic Pad and an Aqua Painter.  Then I cut out both flowers using our wonderful Paper Snips.  They are my favorite scissors!

I again used the 2-Way Glue Pen & Dazzling Diamonds Glitter to highlight parts of the flower.

A dimensional pops the flower up away from the page.

The saying is from the Eastern Elegance Rub-Ons.  I think it would have looked better if I had used the black one.

But I LOVE the swirly doodles in this set!!

For the 3D item this month, I made a gift enclosure.  It holds a Jamba Juice gift card, but you could also put other things inside like a tea or Kool-Aid packet, or orange flavored lollipops.

I love the Tart & Tangy stamp set in the Occassions Mini Catalog!  It is SO cute!  And its so convenient that the images fit perfectly in the circle punches.

The stamp set also works so well with the Enjoy Every Moment set, that I used on the inside and with its jumbo wheel, Daisy Dash.  I like how the flowers on the wheel look with the Scallop Circle punch and the punched scallop edge on the flap.

(Enjoy Every Moment & the Daisy Dash jumbo wheel are part of this month’s promo.)

Home & Family Scrapbook

Boy have I been busy!  This weekend I made a handful of cards & boxes, which I will post later.

Last week, I completed the pages for my 6×6 Home & Family Scrapbook!  I used only the papers, card stocks & self-adhesive die cuts from the Home Again Simply Scrappin’ Kit.  This was a stretch for me because I love to use ribbons and other accessories on my scrapbook pages.  But I did it and I am so happy with the finished project!

You can make the same book at a class I’m holding on National Scrapbooking Day (Saturday May 3rd).  View my Events page to get the details on my class.

Here’s a teaser:

Spring Baskets

April 8, 2008 at 9:00 pm | Posted in Projects, Stamp Set- Two Cute, Stamp Sets, Stampin' Up! | Leave a comment

I apologize for not being “around”.  I got sick a few weeks ago.  After a week of it, I thought it was over, then it came back & I had to be on antibiotics to kick it.  I didn’t do any stamping, and hardly any housework for 2 weeks!  So, I’ve spent the last week catching up on everything else.  But I’m back now.  🙂

Before I got sick, I was working on these Easter baskets.  I was making them for the 12-13 year old young ladies that I teach at church.  I had made the main part of the basket & only needed to create the handle & the scalloped focal point when I had to put the whole project away.  I didn’t get back to them until well after Easter, so now they are Spring baskets.

Stamp Set: Two Cute
Paper: Whisper White, Lovely Lilac & Certainly Celery Card Stocks
Ink: Pretty in Pink, Regal Rose, Lavender Lace & Lovely Lilac Classic Ink Pads
Accessories: Stamping Dimensionals, Scallop Circle Punch, 1-1/4″ & 1-3/8″ Circle Punches
