Party Picks

March 20, 2008 at 5:23 pm | Posted in Accessories- Designer Series Papers, Projects, Stamp Set- Tag Time, Stamp Set- Tagger's Dozen, Stamp Sets, Stampin' Up! | Leave a comment

Monday was St. Patrick’s Day.  We had the traditional (and much looked forward to) corned beef & cabbage.  I made homemade rolls (yum!) and with the rest of the dough made cinnamon rolls.  I tinted the glaze green.  (Yes, its supposed to be green!)  I thought I was overdoing it a bit, but my sweet Tom said it looked great.  🙂

Earlier in the day, I made these little picks.  (Sorry the pictures are fuzzy.)  I used the Tagger’s Dozen set for the side with the star & the Tag Time set (retired) for the side with the shamrock.  (They’re double-sided.)

My DD (age 4) really loved these.  She said she wants us to make these for every holiday.  I think they would be great for parties.  They are similar to the the party picks in the Spring-Summer catalog on page 132.

As usual with my projects lately, they were very easy to make.  (I just haven’t had time lately to make those extensive “wow” projects.)  I simply stamped the image using Garden Green classic ink onto Whisper White card stock.  Then, I punched it out with the 1″ circle punch.  I punched Certainly Celery Prints Designer Paper with the 1 3/8″ circle punch, and Garden Green Cardstock with the Scallop circle punch.  Love those punches!!  I sponged all the layers with Close to Cocoa classic ink.  To put it all together, I taped a bamboo skewer onto the back, then added Dimensionals and placed the opposite piece directly onto the first piece, being careful that the scallops matched up.

I think they look good in a flower arrangement, too!

Just Hours Left to Sale-A-Brate!

March 17, 2008 at 3:15 pm | Posted in Accessories- Rub-Ons, Projects, Stampin' Up! | 1 Comment

Time is seriously running out!  Now is your last chance to get the Sale-A-Bration stamp sets or rub-ons FREE!  After today, Stampin’ Up! will never have any of these items available again.  They were created just for this Sale-A-Bration period.

Contact me ASAP to place any last-minute Sale-A-Bration orders!

Now here’s my last SAB project I’ll be posting:

Disclaimer:  I don’t know how real photographers get nice pics of mirrors!!  With my (lack of) skill, it was nearly impossible to get a pic worth sharing.  It doesn’t help that you have to worry about not only what is around the object you’re photographing, but also what is across the room from it!  In my house, that can be a real problem.  LOL

This picture just doesn’t do the real thing justice.  IRL, the mirror looks pretty amazing.  And it took less than five minutes to apply the rub-ons.

I used the Love & Happiness Rub-Ons that coordinate with the Friendship Blooms stamp set.  Both are in the Sale-A-Bration brochure.  We do carry other rub-ons in our Spring-Summer Collection.  Click here to check them out.

And the winner is…

Cute & Quick Birthday Gift

March 16, 2008 at 11:22 pm | Posted in Accessories- Designer Series Papers, Accessories- Markers, Projects, Stamp Set- Birthday Whimsy, Stamp Sets, Stampin' Up! | 2 Comments

So, my sister & I have some good friends who’s birthday (we’re very sad to say) we usually overlook.  This year, we wanted to make sure to send them something!

Our friends are married and have the same birthday.  We wanted to send something for both of them, so it had to be nice for both a gal & a guy.  Also, my sister & I have schedules right now that just don’t match, so it ended up that we only had about 1hr to make this from start to finish plus have it ready to ship.

Here’s what we came up with:

My sister picked up a variety of fun size candy bars and I had an empty Crystal Light container.  We decorated both with the Cutie Pie designer paper.  It was all very easy and we are pleased with the results.

I like how the other side of the paper showed through on the inside of the translucent container.  Remember to use Sticky Strip when attaching paper to containers.

We used the SAB stamp set Birthday Whimsy to create the tag, the decoration on the lid, and the matching 3×3 card.

Notice the short birthday present on the lid?  It is the same stamp as the long & skinny present on the tag.  Just ink up the top section.  Then we used the circle punches and the Scallop Circle punch to finish it off.

100th Post!!! Blog Candy!!!

March 12, 2008 at 2:53 pm | Posted in Accessories- Designer Series Papers, Blog Candy!, Projects, Stamp Set- Two Cute, Stamp Sets, Stampin' Up! | 45 Comments

Can you believe that this is my 100th post?  Pretty cool!

To celebrate, I’m giving away my first blog candy!  One lucky person will get the Sweet & Simple stamp set and the Garden Blocks stamp set.  Both are retired Stampin’ Up! sets of 8.  And because I have a hard time hearing “blog candy” without thinking of real candy, I’m also including a king-size hershey candy bar, decorated with the Cutie Pie designer paper & the Two Cute stamp set.

To win these delicious spring goodies, simply leave a comment to this entry.  I’ll draw a random winner on Monday, March 17th.  Be sure to leave a comment by 10am (PST) Monday.  Then, I’ll announce the winner on the blog, so come back to check if you’re the winner early next week.  If you’re the winner, you’ll email me your full name & physical address at that point.

Thanks for visiting my blog.  Good luck!

Super Sweet Baby Card

March 4, 2008 at 4:12 pm | Posted in Accessories- Markers, Projects, Stamp Set- Nursery Necessities, Stamp Sets, Stampin' Up!, Techniques- Glitter | 2 Comments

Quite a while ago I went to a baby shower for my friend, Erica.  My DH snapped some pictures of the card I made before I ran out the door.  Thanks, Tom!

The fold is CASEd from a swap I recently received.  The card is the top left one in the photo of the So Many Scallops swaps in this post

The stamp set is the new Nursery Necessities set.  I have to admit, the set didn’t grab me at first.  But the more I looked at it and saw samples made with it, the more I liked the looks of it.  Now that I have it myself, I find that it is so easy to use & I love it!!

I used my 2-Way Glue Pen to outline the Bashful Blue moon and to fill in the Barely Banana star.  Then I sprinkled them all over with Dazzling Diamonds glitter to make them all sparkly!  I really like how the moon looks layered over the Scallop Circle punch!  I mirrored the scallop look on the left edge of the designer paper on the right, using the Corner Rounder punch.  It isn’t seen until you open the card.

The paper is really old, retired Stampin’ Up! designer paper.  (sorry.)

I used our fabulous Stampin’ Write Markers to color the different sections of the little sail boat.  Then I added a Dimensional to the back of the boat and tucked it into the waves I created with the designer paper.

I’m really happy with the how this card turned out.  There were a couple different elements I had wanted to add, but I ran out of time.  But now I think it may look better this way.  🙂  I’m sure I’ll be using this card fold and this stamp set again soon!
