More Good News

Well, isn’t this just the day for good news?  Some important people at Stampin’ Up! must’ve had a big meeting today.  The latest announcement…

“Beginning with the upcoming Spring-Summer Collection 2008, 12″ x 12″ card stock in individual color packages will return to the Stampin’ Up! product offering in addition to the color family assortments!

We’ve heard your concern that you need this core product for workshops and to satisfy your customers’ needs. This card stock offers you, your hostesses, and customers more flexibility in purchasing options…”

I love working with a company that listens to it’s demonstrators & customers!

Stampin’ Up! has always offered all 48 colors (plus some neutrals) in both 8-1/2×11 & 12×12 cardstocks.  After doing research, Stampin’ Up! decided that for the Fall-Winter Collection only the most popular colors needed to be offered in individual packs and the rest would be available in the color family assortments.

Well, many demonstrators did not agree with this change.  Anyone who attends my Totally Hands On workshops knows that every month my guests create a 6×6 bragbook page.  So I use quite a lot of 12×12 in just one color each month.  It turned out that some customers also prefered purchasing in 12×12 individual packs.

The lesson here is this:  If you don’t like a change that Stampin’ Up! has made, or if you think there is a change that needs to be made, let them know!  Also, let your demonstrator know & we will contact them on our end.  They do listen!

We’re Free to Sell Our Cards!!

October 16, 2007 at 7:45 am | Posted in Stampin' Up!, Stampin' Up! Policy | 2 Comments

In the past, Stampin’ Up!’s Angel Policy has allowed us all to sell our handmade creations as long as we use one of Stampin’ Up!’s Limited License stamps on the back of the card, but never in a “permanent retail location”.  That means no one was legally allowed to sell anything with a Stampin’ Up! copyrighted image in any place that was considered “permanent” (a store, internet website, or internet auction site).

But Stampin’ Up! has decided to change their policy!!  Woo Hoo SU!

The change will be effective November 15th, 2007.

This is what was posted on the demonstrator side of the website just this morning:

Angel Policy – Article 4 of Stampin’ Up!’s Angel Policy has been revised to allow the sale of hand-stamped items in permanent retail locations. The seller must clearly indicate that the items were created by hand, and not a product of the company. The seller may indicate that the supplies used to make the items are from Stampin’ Up!, but the company logo may not be used in any way for the sole purpose of promoting the sale of these items.”

Be sure to wait until Nov 15th to take advantage of this change in policy.  Use this month to speak to store owners about selling your creations and get a jump start on making awesome projects to sell.   This is just in time for the Christmas season!

You will still need to have your craftwork stamped with one of Stampin’ Up!’s Limited License stamps.  They are shown on pages 149, 152 & 153 of the Stampin’ Up! Fall-Winter Collection

If you have questions about these stamp sets, would like to purchase one of these sets, or have any questions about this new policy, please contact me.

Here’s some pictures of the thanksgiving garland I made.  I love it!  It took a few hours to make.  I definitely think it was worth it.

Its from page 19 of the Holiday Mini Collection.  It uses On Board Garland Greetings & the delicious Apple Cider designer series papers.

I’m holding a class where you can make this beautiful fall garland.  While you do, you’ll be learning how to embellish chipboard by covering it with designer papers & by coloring it with any of Stampin’ Up!’s 48 exclusive colors!  You can use these techniques to add chipboard to all of your paper crafts!

My class is on Thursday, October 25th at 6:30pm.  The cost is $35 ($32 for current club members).   RSVP by this Monday, Oct 13th!

The class includes all the supplies needed to complete this project.  PLUS, you’ll take home the remainder of your On Board Garland Greetings package, which will include enough pieces to make a fabulous Christmas garland with the words “Joy” & “Noel”, and lots of other chipboard leaves, snowflakes & stars, too.  Use these accents to embellish your cards, scrapbook pages & gift packaging!  Or, use them to create additional coordinating decorations to display in your home.  So many options!

For those who are a little sensitive, you may want to skip this next photo.  lol

Sorry, I couldn’t help myself.  🙂  I didn’t even notice it when I was snapping away taking pictures.  Then I was looking at them on the computer and it cracked me up.  Maybe I should be more observant while photographing.
