I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving!  I enjoyed lots of family, food & fun over the week.

autumn vine projects 1 by you.

Here are two projects I made recently using the beautiful Autumn Vine DSP from the Holiday Mini Catalog.  The Holiday Mini is good through Jan 18th, so there’s still plenty of time to get some of this paper.

The first project was an invite to a dinner.  I had to make a lot of them, so I kept it simple, but still elegant.  I also maximized my use of the the DSP by using (3) 2″x1″ strips on each card.  That gave the splash of color I wanted, but didn’t use much paper at all!

The gold embossing is the “wow” on this project.  I received a lot of compliments on the invites.  Non-stampers especially are impressed with the embossing technique.  I used my favorite stamp set Baroque Motifs for the swirl and Sincere Salutations for the saying.

 

The other project is a CD sleeve.  I made a photo CD for my daugher’s teacher (with photos of their field trip to the pumpkin patch) but I didn’t have a sleeve to put it in.  So I made my own!  It was really easy!

Well, I’m not.  My card is.

Do you remember the card I shared with you yesterday?  It had been featured on the Stampers Showcase on the Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator website.  Coincidently, one of my cards is featured there today!  Stampin’ Up! chooses 4-6 cards to be featured each day.  They receive these cards from contest submissions and swaps at Events.  This card is a swap I made for Convention.

Technique Video: Watercoloring

Stampin’ Up! has provided a wonderful technique video on my Demonstrator Website (www.ruth.stampinup.net).  I believe the video changes each month.  Click on the photo below to go to the page where you can watch the video.  It can also be found on the main page of my Demonstrator Website.

Carrie Cudney did a great job on this.  I always love to watch her present at the Stampin’ Up! conventions. 

As Carrie said, if you have any questions about watercoloring, just ask!  It is one of my favorite techniques.

Also, if you’d like hands-on training, watercoloring is a great technique to learn in a workshop.  I find that new and advanced stampers have a great time with this technique.

Since I just posted the other projects that we’ll be making at my Great Gifts Stamp Camp on Saturday October 18th, I thought I’d put up some photos of the other class: tile coasters.  I’ve posted these photos on here before, so you may recognize them.

 

At the class, you’ll make a set of four coasters.  I’ll have my favorite stamps for coasters out for you to choose from.

Stamped Candles

As soon as I was done deciding which ornaments to make for the Ornaments Class, I began to design the candles for the Stamped Candles Class.  We’ll be making two candles at the class.

This one is made with the Baroque Motifs stamp set and class attendees will make the coordinating belly band to go around the candle. 

 

The second is made with the Lovely as a Tree stamp set.  I tried so hard to get a picture of the way the image sparkles on the candle, but I just couldn’t do it justice.  You’ll just have to trust me.  Its very pretty.

The Park Your Art 2nd Saturday event was fabulous!  I hope to attend next month’s on July 12th as well.  I’ll have to see about rearranging some things on my schedule to make it work, though.

The parking lot was full of artists and crafters.  The weather was wonderful (after the sun set, anyway!).  A steady flow of art walkers kept things busy!  :)   I was so busy, I completely forgot about pulling out my camera during the event. 

Another thanks to the generous McMartin Realty and employees for putting this on and being so attentive during the evening!!
