July 19, 2007 at 12:24 pm | In Projects, Scrapbooking, Stamp Sets, Stampin' Up!, Techniques | 6 CommentsAnnoucing the winner of six California State Fair Creative Arts Competition awards…
That’s right, ME! I still can’t believe it!
The state fair has a scrapbooking division and a card-making division in the creative arts category. The scrapbooking division has two classes, the card-making has four. Each participant can submit only one entry per class. So I entered in all six, and I recently found out that each of my six entries placed!
I scanned my projects before I turned them in. The scrapbook pages look a little funny in the scan because they had to be 12×12 2-page spreads. My scanner only goes up to 8 1/2 x 11 so I had to scan each page 4 times and stitch them together on the computer.
That’s all right. Everyone in California will just have to go to the fair to see them in person!
I’ll also bring my entries to my workshops in September.
Now you can all tell your friends, that you have an award-winning demonstrator!

July 18, 2007 at 6:36 am | In Projects, Stamp Set- Eat Cake, Stamp Sets | 4 CommentsThe last few times we had the missionaries from our church over for dinner, they’ve made cards before they left. They made mother’s and father’s day cards, and now they’re getting in the habit. So last week one of them requested making birthday cards.

Elder Lewis copied a card that I showed them. Here’s what he made:

Elder Bird got pretty creative with his card:

Okay, I’m going to turn on the ability for you to make comments on my blog.
I started my blog with the comments turned off for a couple of reasons. First, I didn’t want people to feel obligated to post a comment every time they visited. I don’t mind if you want to lurk without remarking on everything. Second, I won’t always be able to respond to your comments immediately, the way some people with blogs do. I’m a busy mom, so it might take a few days to reply to any comments that need to be addressed.
But I’m going to give the comments a try. That way, if you want to comment on anything, or ask a question about a post, you can.
Maybe I’ll leave them open, maybe not. We’ll see how it goes…
Rubber Stamp “Garage” Sale
July 13, 2007 at 11:47 pm | In Events, Stamp Sets | 1 CommentOver the last five years of being a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator, I’ve collected quite a few retired stamp sets! I’ve been telling myself that I need to let some of them go.
Here’s your chance at some of the stamp sets that have retired within the last several years. I am selling 50 of them- all at 20% – 50% off their catalog price. Many of these sets will be new to many of you because they retired so long ago!
I am selling these first come, first served. Call or email me to let me know which sets you’d like to purchase. I must receive payment and have a date scheduled for you to pick up your sets within one week, or I will make them available again to everyone else. There is no tax. If you would like me to ship your purchases to you, I will charge $5 for the first stamp set and $3 for each additional set.
To view what is left of the sets in person, you can come by my house (4931 Concord Rd, Sacramento) Wednesday, July 18th 6pm – 8:30pm.
Please let me know if you have any questions!

New Catalog/ Mystery Hostess Party
July 12, 2007 at 8:28 pm | In Events, New Products, Projects, Stamp Set- Pick A Petal, Stamp Set- Warm Words, Stamp Sets, Stampin' Up! | Leave a CommentWe had a great time at the party last Saturday! I’m sorry for those who couldn’t make it!
The main attraction was, of course, the new catalog! If you haven’t yet gotten your own copy of the Fall-Winter Collection, you can view it online here. It’s true, though, there is nothing like having a real copy to leisurely browse through for hours. Contact me to get one!
At the party, I had the new stamp set Pick a Petal out for everyone to make a few cards. Here are the samples I provided, but most created something all their own. Its not hard with this stamp set. It is adorable!

CASED from this card on Splitcoast Stampers.
